JOB NAME:
Charles Poletti Power Plant
Customer: Yonkers Electric Contracting Corporation
Location: Queens, NY
Completion Date: December 2011
THE PROJECT:
We received the request for proposal from Yonkers Electric Contracting Corporation in early August of 2011. The scope of the contractor’s work for the project included purchasing, installing, rigging, and commissioning a new outdoor 2000KVA unit substation into existing jobsite conditions. The construction timeline was the compelling issue on this project. The project was awarded in late August 2011 and was to be installed and commissioned by December 2011. We worked with the contractor, consulting engineer, and end user to review the plan documents and equipment leadtimes in order to come up with a solution that would meet the intent of the specification and the project timeline. In the end, we supplied a new 2000KVA substation transformer by Sunbelt Transformer and a 1600A NEMA 3R outdoor non-walk-in switchgear lineup by Park Detroit. Drawings for approval were completed within 1 week and approved the following week. The equipment arrived onsite as required by the customer and SSL assisted in the commissioning and training process to complete our support of the project in order to meet the required completion date.
