THE PROJECT:
Kiewit Construction contracted us to deliver a Duplex feed substation at an MTA facility for the purpose of supplying power. The critical aspect of this project was the sizing of the equipment. There was extremely limited space, and the new substation was being rebuilt in place. We came up with a concept and design and contracted Park Detroit and MTC Transformers respectively to build the substation. Park manufactured the primary duplex lineup utilizing Schneider HVL-CC gas insulted switches and MTC manufactured a small footprint dry type transformer. SSLNYNJ coordinated the primary and throat connections between both pieces of equipment along with a composite drawing. It was also a quick ship design and deliver project which started with a purchase order on 2/4/2019 and delivered all equipment to site by 7/26/2019.
